To celebrate 30 years of Warcraft® history, BBI partnered with Blizzard to develop and support gorgeous-yet-faithful remastered versions of Warcraft® I and II, alongside major updates to Warcraft® III: Reforged using Blizzard’s proprietary engines.

A 30 Year Code Excavation

The original Warcraft was released in 1994. To bring it to modern PCs with HD resolutions while preserving the authentic gameplay, BBI worked closely with Blizzard to resurrect the original code architecture and implement key quality of life changes to make the games connect with new audiences

Azeroth’s Iconic Visuals, Enhanced

BBI rebuilt all art and UI assets for modern resolutions while taking extreme care to keep the soul of the original aesthetic intact; providing a new coat of paint for a historic and groundbreaking franchise.

Bringing Decades of RTS Innovation to Warcraft

The BBI team was able to introduce key QoL features standard to modern RTS titles. The team’s decade-long expertise in the genre through Minecraft Legends, Homeworld 3 etc. was put in the forefront to make the remasters competitive in the current market. 

Networking and Live Updates Enabled

With rebuilt networking code, the original Warcraft titles could be easily updated to support multiplayer matchmaking for the first time in decades.

Working closely with Blizzard’s Battle.Net teams, BBI’s dedicated live-ops team continues to deliver patches based on player feedback into 2026.
